The excursion is not recommended for cardiopathic ot hypertensive people.
The tour starts from a height of 1.923 m. (Cable Car Station – Nicolosi Nord/Etna Sud- Rifugio Sapienza). On board a modern cable car the height of 2.500 m is reached in a matter of minutes (in alternative, by jeep).
From the Rifugio Sapienza special cross country vehicles, driven by experienced guides, take visitors up to the heights allowed by security regulations. From the outstanding panorama overviewing the sea, they can admire the huge central crater, the South-Eastern crater and the lava flows, old and recent, which characterize the landscape. The ascent continues in the company of Etna guides who, in line with the current security rules, take visitors to the places where the vitality of the Volcano best emerges.
